Lazy Weekend

We had a great lazy weekend. On Saturday morning Sydney let us sleep in until 7:30! We had some coffee (just me, Matt hates coffee) and Sydney decided that it was nap time around 9 a.m. Matt installed her new Cowmooflage car seat since she is way too big for her infant carrier now.

After her hour-long nap, we went to lunch at Legal Seafood for some clam chowder and then came home and everyone took 3 hour naps.

After naptime, we cleaned our entire house while Sydney played in her jumper, sat in her highchair and rolled around on the carpet. We are still waiting to see her crawl. She crawled this week for the first time at her babysitter's house, but refuses to show us her new skill. Perhaps next week?

On Sunday, we went to church at 9 a.m. We have a great new parish near Old Town Alexandria that is very family friendly. There are so many babies, toddlers and kids of all ages babbling and crawling/walking/running around the parent area. The choir sounds pretty good too and the priest has had good messages for us to take into the week.

Then, we went to Trader Joe's. I love that place! I want to write their corporate office and ask if they some sort of unofficial policy about giving away free items. The last time we were there, the checkout guy had extreme difficulty scanning our Fage Greek style yogurt. So, instead of punching in he SKU number, he threw it in the bag for free and said, "Merry Christmas." Today, the checkout lady forgot to scan our gallon of milk before Matt had paid, so she gave it to us for free. Then she offered us 2 or 3 Advent calendars, since it's according to the checkout lady "it's halfway to Christmas and no one is buying them." Thank you for Christmas cheer and low prices on organic food, Trader Joe's!
