Almost Two!

Sydney is almost two years old and she can do a lot of things! Here is what she's been working on lately.

She can:
Dress herself in elastic waist pants and jackets.
Take off her own jeans
Comb her hair
Draw lines and rough circles with crayons.
Build a tower with 6-8 small blocks
Walking down stairs, facing forward and holding the banister.
Jumping
Bear Crawling (walking on hands and feet with butt in the air)
Tick - Tock (swinging legs to look like a clock pendulum)
Forward somersault
Using a spoon and fork together
Blowing bubbles by herself
Recognizing a triangle and circle
Matching games with pictures (modified version of Memory)
She can identify herself in pictures, Mom, Dad, baby and grandparents.
She is saying two-word sentences and sometimes three-word phrases such as "I want this," "Help, please", "More water please."
Of course...she is an expert at saying "no" unless you ask "Do you want a cookie?"

Her language acquisition is really in a boom phase! She can understand multi-step directions, think about what she wants and show us/tell us.

Most exciting of all is that she has recently started telling us "Pee Pee" or "Potty" and following through by using the toilet. She especially loves to use toilet paper and flush it "bye bye" down the big toilet. Wow!
