Sydney and Mommy before 9 a.m. Mass
We bougt Sydney a new Little People farmhouse. She literally squealed with delight and laughter when Matt was opening the box. She LOVES these toys!
Sydney and Dad on the way to Toys R Us. Sydney fell asleep in the car, stayed asleep in the toy store and the drive to Costco. She missed the entire trip to toystore.
Some rice flour, coconut and mung bean pastries from the Vietnamese bakery. Very similar to Filipino kusinta (if you know what that is.)
Ah....what a wonderful weekend! The weekend started off on Friday afternoon with a long walk through our neighborhood . It was beautiful weather (70 degrees) and the downtown cafes and restaurants were full of families, kids and people enjoying after-dinner drinks.
On Saturday morning, Matt and I woke up very early (5:30) because Sydney was calling for us from her crib. We went to the National Mall and ran around for about 45 minutes. We are doing a 5K Training Program to prepare for a race next month. It was a beautiful sight - the monuments, the early morning sun and the three of us.
Sunday, we went to Mass and Sydney took a long morning nap. I attempted to lay out and get some sun, but it was just too. darn. hot. 90 degrees or so. So, I left and got a pedicure since I will now be wearing sandals to work every day while Matt watched the Bulls beat the Celtics. We took a nice evening stroll once it cooled off.
Now, everyone is showered, Sydney is sleeping and we are ready for a week of work. Hopefully, it flies by quickly.
