We went to Florida for the 4-day weekend and had a great time visiting Dad. Saturday was Sydney's 8th flight and she was a champion travel. She slept most the of the 2 hour flight down to Tampa. Saturday, Matt showed us around Tampa and we enjoyed lunch and nap time in the afternoon.
On Sunday, we went to the Tampa Lowry Zoo in the morning. Sydney was a big fan of the river otter. She watched him do his water acrobatics for a good 10 minutes and tried to "touch" him through the glass. She was NOT a big fan of the giant sea turtle. She immediately cried when she saw that huge, gnarled shell coming at her in the underwater tank. Other big hits were the penguins, the giraffe and the tiger cub.
Monday, we went to Clearwater Beach. It was a beautiful drive over the water and we re-introduced Sydney to the Ocean (she went to Hilton Head last July, remember?). She was not so thrilled with the cold water, but she was enchanted with the big mouthful of sand that she indulged in while we had our heads turned. Oh well...I suppose everyone has to learn that lesson some way, right?
